History

Our progress over the years

1982
Claytons Group began custom building kitchens from the original founder's garage in Essendon, Victoria. Some of our original customers back then were new home builders in Victoria, builders we still serve and maintain a growing partnership with today.

1997
Claytons Group decided to expand its operation and made a significant investment in state-of-the-art manufacturing and technology, along with purpose built premises in Melbourne, Victoria to suit. This formed one of Australia’s leading joinery manufacturing operations of the time and still continues to be so today.

2002
The company expanded operations into Queensland which initiated Claytons growth nationally.

2007
The business further invested in the latest technology to improve quality and accuracy of finished product. This technology allowed labour intensive tasks to now be automated and produced on machines. There was also a strong emphasis on lasers and probe type devices on manufacturing equipment, to ensure precision and consistency of the finished product to the highest possible standard.

2009
A second premises was acquired in Victoria to accommodate Claytons national logistics distribution center. This allows Claytons to house approximately 400 finished kitchens to ensure on time and in full delivery.

2011
Anmar Group (parent company) acquired Marbut Stone which established a unique ‘one-stop’ proposition to our customers – joinery, stone benchtops and glass splashbacks.

Our focus on research and development at Claytons led us to establish an operating ‘Kitchen Lab’ display centre which showcases different prototypes for tomorrow’s product. This facility enables the business to work proactively with its customers to deliver product differentiation within their respective markets.

2012
Claytons Group officially opens a branch in South Australia to expand operations across the state.

2013
Claytons Group officially opens a branch in New South Wales to expand operations across the state.

2014
With significant investment into a new fleet of purpose built trucks for deliveries and gaining new software and tools to ensure accuracy of information and distribution, Claytons Group forms a strong partnership with Ron Crouch Transport in Victoria, to strengthen the logistics operations of our business. As a result we are able to move our products efficiently, both locally and interstate.
