Our progress over the years
Claytons Group began custom building kitchens from the original founder's garage in Essendon, Victoria. Some of our original customers back then were new home builders in Victoria, builders we still serve and maintain a growing partnership with today.
We moved to an 800sqm factory in Essendon, Victoria and began to grow the business.
As the business grew bigger, we moved to a 2000sqm premises in Campbellfied, Victoria to better accommodate us.
Claytons decided to expand its operation and made a significant investment in state-of-the-art manufacturing and technology, along with purpose-built premises in Laverton North, Victoria to suit. This formed one of Australia’s leading joinery manufacturing operations of the time.
The company expanded operations into a 1000sqm premises in Queensland, which initiated Claytons growth nationally.
The business further invested in the latest technology to improve quality and accuracy of finished product. This technology allowed labour intensive tasks to now be automated and produced on machines. There was also a strong emphasis on lasers and probe type devices on manufacturing equipment, to ensure precision and consistency of the finished product to the highest possible standard.
A second premises was acquired in Victoria to accommodate Claytons national logistics distribution center. This allows Claytons to house approximately 400 finished kitchens to ensure on time and in full delivery.
Anmar Group (parent company) acquired Marbut Stone which established a unique ‘one-stop’ proposition to our customers – joinery, stone benchtops and glass splashbacks.
Our focus on research and development at Claytons led us to establish an operating ‘Kitchen Lab’ display centre which showcases different prototypes for tomorrow’s product. This facility enables the business to work proactively with its customers to deliver product differentiation within their respective markets.
Claytons officially opens an 800sqm branch in South Australia to expand operations across the state.
Claytons officially opens a 600sqm branch in New South Wales to expand operations across the state.
With significant investment into a new fleet of purpose-built trucks for deliveries, and gaining new software and tools to ensure accuracy of information and distribution, Claytons Group forms a strong partnership with Ron Crouch Transport in Victoria, to strengthen the logistics operations of our business. As a result, we are able to move our products efficiently, both locally and interstate.
Claytons establishes the luxe 'Claytons Alfresco' brand and work begins on an extensive range of outdoor kitchen furniture.
Claytons moves its head office and factory to new premises in Truganina VIC. The new factory is large and purpose-built to cater to new machinery, logistics and warehouse operations. It also boasts a brand new showroom.
